STATION: BROADCAST FACILITIES

LIVE RADIO STUDIOS

Our studios consist of 3 ‘on air’ studios, a hard disk music playout system, 2 digital editing studios, a multitrack drama studio, plus administration support and production offices.

SATELLITE COVERAGE

Our broadcasting facilities were expanded in 1998 and 1999 with two international programme services being set up to provide programming 24 hours a day. This is broadcast via satellite to our affiliate stations on local FM services world-wide.

Our service here at The Voice is uplinked to the Intelsat 804 satellite.

CHRISTIAN VOICE FM ZAMBIA

As well as our affiliate network (see the affiliates page for more details), we have our own broadcasting facility in Africa. Following the success of our short wave facility in 1994, it was decided to establish a number of FM stations in Zambia. The site is 35 km outside of Lusaka with different transmitters covering different regions.

Our first FM station was launched in 1996 to cover Lusaka and the surrounding areas. In October 2000 we launched our second FM station in Kitwe in the Copperbelt. We started broadcasting to the Ndola region in January 2002.

CHRISTIAN VOICE ZAMBIA

Our first short wave broadcasting began in December 1994. This was the first licence granted to a private broadcaster under Zambia’s broadcasting liberalisation policy.

We broadcast from our site 35 km outside Lusaka, to Zambia and the surrounding countries, with a 2000 km radius from coast to coast. We use a Continental Electronics 100kw short wave transmitter and a TCI 615 omnidirectional antenna.
